Recommended Appliance Brands for Replacements
When an appliance reaches the end of its life, replacing it is often the smarter and more economical choice. I get a lot of questions from customers about which brands I recommend, so here’s a clear breakdown based on what I see in the field every day.
Washers & Dryers
LG is my top choice right now, especially if you like front-loaders—my personal preference as well. Whirlpool also makes a solid front-load set.
However, their basic top-loaders are having a lot of control board issues at the moment. If you want a Whirlpool top-loader, go with the Cabrio models.
Avoid: store brands and Samsung laundry appliances.
Ranges
GE and Frigidaire offer great value for the money. Right behind them are Whirlpool and Maytag, which are also reliable choices.
Avoid: store brands and Samsung ranges.
Refrigerators
Honestly, there isn’t a “great” fridge on the market right now. I recommend choosing the most basic model that has the features you need, and definitely get the extended warranty.
Based on repair trends, I recommend staying away from LG and Samsung refrigerators.
Dishwashers
My top recommendations are GE and Frigidaire. A lot of people like Bosch, but in recent years I’ve seen a steep decline in their quality. Whirlpool and LG also make decent dishwashers, but they wouldn’t be my first pick.
Avoid: any Samsung or store-brand dishwashers.
